As a budget traveler, my best friend Alex and I decided that a South-East Asian country would be fun to explore and we figured that the cost of living would be low once we landed there. So we narrowed our choices down to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I love the sound of that name!
This place seems to combine the old and the new very smoothly. It?s also where the East meets the West without clashing.
In Kuala Lumpur, we want to visit the Petronas Twin Towers and see its star-shaped architecture. Merdeka Square is also on the list. I find it interesting to know that I am not that much older than Malaysia, relatively speaking. I was born in 1975 and Malaysia gained its independence in August 1957.
We are eager to spend some time in the Lake Gardens. It sounds like a wonderful environment ? an Orchid Garden, an Hibiscus Garden, a Butterfly Park, and a Bird Park. We also hope to see the Batu Caves, the Thean Hou Temple and Kampung Bahru where we will be able to see the traditional wooden houses.
I like going to shopping areas too, even if I don?t buy anything. It?s fun to watch the exchanges between buyers and sellers. We?ll explore the China Town market and the Suria Shopping Center. I hope that I find some bargains or I can negotiate a lower price on something I want.
It sounds as though any time is a good time to visit Kuala Lumpur. For Alex and me, June is probably our best month for a vacation. It?s exciting to plan for this trip. We want our first trip to Asia to be spectacular. Thank you for providing us with some great information about that part of the world.
